Two high profile women will be battling to win Davenport. NDP President Marit Stiles has confirmed she will be seaking the NDP nomination to run provincially in Davenport.

That puts her up againt incumbent Liberal Christina Martins. If Stiles is successful, this would shape up to be a very high-profile face-off.

We should really have a general NDP nominations thread, or at most perhaps regional ones. I heard about Marit Stiles, she sounds like an interesting potential candidate. Do you know if anyone else is planning to contest the nomination?

Next door in Parkdale High Park I have heard that Cheri DiNovo's executive assistant, Bhutila Karpoche, is set to be acclaimed as the ONDP candidate tomorrow night. If ultimately elected MPP, I believe she may be the first Tibetan-Canadian elected to a provincial or federal legislature, which is pretty cool.

Any word on whether Jonah Schein intends on running for the nomination?

Also, does anyone have any updates on the Beaches East York nomination? We lost it by a nose in 2014. Michael Prue has stated that he is not running for office again.

Only one high profile woman is running in Davenport - Marit Stiles. The Liberal incumbent Cristina Martins is very very low profile and has done ZILCH since being elected.

If that is the case how did she BEAT incumbent Jonah Schein?
