My two cents: Western, Judeo-Christian society has a certain concept of what a ‘warrior’ is. I encourage everyone to attend this speaking series if for nothing else, to learn that being a warrior has nothing to do with gender but everything to do with having a strong heart. I say Miigwetch and pass some virtual tobacco to these three women and the countless others who are currently standing up for what they believe in. Story-telling (and thus story-listening) is a fundamental part of many First Nations cultures and holds much spirital power. Please honour yourself and them by attending.
