Clay and Paper Theatre has been a gift to Toronto. It’s a community theatre company that uses a variety of different mediums in their storytelling. Crowd favourites include its use of giant puppets, masks, and actors on stilts.

Their mandate in community interaction and social inclusion.

The non-profit was founded in 1994 by founder and artistic director, David Anderson, from Duffrin Grove Park where the company has a small workshop and storage capacity.

Again this year it is gearing up for its annual Night of Dread – an invite for,”the community to parade our private and collective fears through the darkened streets of Toronto.

This year, the Night of Dread will be held on Saturday October 25, 2014 – its 15th year of production.

According to the call out, “Adults, youth, and courageous children are invited to help us build masks, puppets, imagery and shrines, which we will parade through the streets together during the event. Participation is free, and there is no experience necessary.”

But Clay and Paper Theatre need volunteers to again assist them in pulling off such a spectacle.
