rabble.ca is proud to announce that we have made the cut for finalists in the Canadian Online Publishing Awards in the Best Website category. The awards recognize “Canada’s best editorial and design work in digital publications including websites, tablet editions, digital replicas and apps.” We’re in the running among mainstream media sites, sharing the nomination with the Globe and Mail, CTV news and the National Post. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our community supporters, sustaining partners, volunteers, contributors, board and staff.

rabble.ca publisher Kim Elliot said, “It’s such an honour for a site like rabble, that works with such a tiny budget, to be recognized among nominees with much more significant resourcing. It’s truly a testament to how rabble continues to do such important independent journalistic work.”

“It is great to see the site recognized by the Canadian Online Publishing Awards. We work with a great many contributors who have helped rabble.ca grow into a site that offers distinct and notable coverage. rabble.ca‘s nomination in this category is a testament to the quality of the work we do here each day,” said rabble.ca editor-in-chief Meagan Perry.

This is the third year we’ve released our book Best of rabble.ca digitally as well as in print. The iBooks version is free to download here, and it’s full of photos, videos, articles, podcasts and more. This multimedia version continues to be recognized for its innovation.

The Canadian Online Publishing Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Toronto on November 20.
