Colombian Hostage Flees to Freedom-Captor in Tow!

Always difficult to know who was leading whom but anyway this story tends to the heartwarming side.
It seems the Colombian Army is pressing FARC hard and all the ideological induction in creation isn't worth being killed on a long empty stomach.
Let's hope this hostage regains something of the life he had before and doesn't end up on the fringes of society like so many others-unable to find a way to reintegrate.

Colombian army frees Farc hostage

Colombia's army says it has rescued a former member of Congress, Oscar Tulio Lizcano, from left-wing Farc rebels who abducted him in 2000.

The operation was conducted in the mountains of the region of Choco, in Tamana, San Jose del Palmar municipality, it said.

Two years ago, Colombian troops rescued Mr Lizcano's son, who had been kidnapped by another rebel group.

Fidel

They're prolly receiving spy satellite info from the vicious empire, like Saddam did in the 1980's before using it to murder Iranian soldiers. Colombia has become a front line state in the war on democracy.

The intelligence the Colombian Army is using to put the terrorist narco gangs out of 'business' comes from their allies in many places-including local people who monitor where supplies are being bought and by whom-something I've seen articles about in Spanish language media.

I hope you're joking in the last lines of your post as quoted.

FYI-Colombia-warts and all-is Latin America's oldest parliamentary democracy-despite the best efforts of the narco gangster goons known as FARC.

I ask that you Please not pollute my thread with your ideological obsessions.

If we didn't pollute each other's threads with our ideological obsessions, babble as we know it would not exist

Once you hit the post button, it's not your thread anymore. It belongs to the muses of the internet, and proceeds where it will within board policy and tradition.

Uribe's Boys

Uribe and his thugs should be shot, quartered, and voided on. And not necessarily in that order.

I wonder just how much experience a bitter old man like this so-called 'Fidel' has in Latin America?

I first travelled to Colombia in 1974 and have been back to volunteer, just travel/visit with friends and indulge in my favourite hobby of birding many many times.

The kind of trite leftist cant as posted is worthy of a first year poli sci uni punk/student not someone with a world view honed by experience and first hand knowledge.

EDIT

Interesting to see the different angles on this story in the media-at least one FARC member had the cojones to save himself and bring his meal ticket along, now he has a new life promised him something a lot of poor Colombian would like.

The personal details are interesting but otherwise this is just insults - it's not discussion.
