This is a tragedy, compounded. Instead of being able to lean on eath other at thieir mutual time of grief......
Has anyone ever suggested a mediator get involved?
It's easy to see points of view from both sides but surely people have to stop letting the lawyers be the only people that really win in situations like this.
Regardless of having the upper hand with regards to holding the power in this situation, I can't imagine the officer's widow being overcome with joy here.
This whole scene sucks.
