Policing the Internet forums

It is no secret that financial elites spend enormous resources to flood the info space with superficial information and outright nonsense. The media is full of celebrity gossip, ball and puck game "analyses", dog-adoption stories; and if they report political events, it is totally sanitized and distorted. The trashiest media outlets even have such sections as "weird news" and "wacky news".

Here is an example: 24HR Toronto (a free newspaper in GTA) had this story in its Nov 23 edition p.4: Canada should avoid Eggo shortage "crisis". Canadian Eggo fans might find the waffles are harder to find in grocery store freezers between now and the middle of 2010, as Eggo-maker Kellog is grappling with production problems in the US. Facebook and Twitter are teaming with disappointed "fans". (description of technical problems at Kelloggs plants follows)

Comedian Stephen Colbert even mentioned the shortage on the Colbert Report. He put America "on Waff-Con Four" and called on US President [...] to open the "strategic waffle reserve".

But, of course, many people are not interested, they prefer Internet forums like this. And it would only be reasonable to assume that the same characters who spend billions on the trash media, would not leave Internet forums without attention, making sure the sheeple there are not getting exposed to the dangerous ideas. This can be done with paid agents, which pose as forum members.

What would be a profile of such an agent?

He would probably be spending plenty of time on a forum, commenting in many threads (not necessarily, though; clarification further down) Someone who has to make a living, can afford to spend only relatively little time on the "recreational Internet". For example, I made a few posts last Sunday and a few this Sunday. On weekdays I often do not have time to even turn on my computer. Sometimes I have to work Saturdays, which leaves even less time for personal things.

But even if someone is retired or independently wealthy, it is hard to imagine that he would have such a love affair with a particular forum that he practically "lives" there. And I am honestly curious how it could be possible for some to practically "live" on a forum (not necessarily this one). (Obviously, I do not mean forum moderators, as their status is no secret, jast as the fact that they have to be reimbursed for the time they spend)

I believe it is reasonable to assume that a paid agent would be quoting Wiki on every opportunity. But for those who take time to research the facts, Wiki is not credible at all. Take the description of "chemtrails" on Wiki and on some serious alternative sites. According to Wiki, the "conspiratorial" part of chemtrail origins is only in the mind of the "right-wing fanatics". (I do not remember the exact wording, as I have not been at Wiki for years) But alternative websites would say that analysis of chemtrail residues had revealed nano-coated particulate, there are also many photos of chemtrails, which are clearly not contrails.

Wiki prides itself on its openness, as contents can be modified by visitors. But who can realistically be spending time researching and modifying Wiki contents? Certainly not those who have to work for a living! And if you look through the really controversial subjects, Wiki is at a great variance to the alternative media sites.

A paid agent certainly has a list of prohibited subjects and he would either try to lead the discussion away or to resort to outright intimidation. And, considering that it is not easy to intimidate someone, especially through the mask of anonymity, the language and posturing should be forceful enough to earn the agent his keep.

As for the list of prohibited subjects, I believe it is obvious to everybody who had not yet been turned into a moron by the sewer of the mass-media - who prints money, what is "national debt", who came up with the idea and who gets to pocket it. What is "social credit" and how it is different from the current system of money issuance. Which great Canadians have been fighting for Social Credit, who are doing it now?

Who was behind the criminal emission of paper money in every country, which was devastated by runaway inflation; who profited from it and how?

How the money barons profit from tight credit / high interest rates? Origins of wars are high on the list of prohibited topics (the real stuff, of course), who are the puppeteers of the nominal heads of states, who killed Lincoln, Russian Imperial family, Huey Long, JFK, RFK, Lawrence of Arabia, general Patton and why. And if the actual shooter is known, who was giving the orders? (the last two personalities died in road accidents)

I am sure members of this forum can add many other topics to this list. With regard to the frequency of posting, by itself this is not a "trademark" of a paid agent, as there can be several agents policing any given forum, with each of which spending only a reasonable amount of time on any given forum.

And the fact that he is also working other forums cannot realistically be known to the "legit" members. And so the two most important items in the profile of a paid agent, in my opinion, are the viciousness with which he attacks those who "stray" into the prohibited territory, as well as the propensity to quote Wiki.

Social credit? Do you mean by social credit what I mean by social credit? You can't be serious.

(I was polite.)

Oh, he's serious all right. He's so f***ing serious, he admires how :

From what I heard, Germans were also conducting executions, but only for the "deeds", after a due process by their military tribunals. The number of their victims is high, but, it was in proporting to the scale of guerilla warfare conducted by the Polish Home Army, as well as other hostile underground activities.

This definitely meets my definition of "serious". Many many many times over.

As amusing as the OP is, onion's gone, so we may as well close this.
