Hi....
I will try to add something everyday but it may not be possible. I already put in two comments to existing Babble threads.
I really really do not like injustice -- my first two posts are on Omar Khadr and the US Supreme Courts decision on the Voting Rights Act.
I have a twisted sense when it comes to some judicial decisions. I also beleive in certain crimes (even if generally not serious) need to be punished by permanent jail sentence (no 1 month, 1 year, 5 years or conditional) but actual life (no get out of free jail card).
I beleive in limited democracy:
a) the majority rule needs to have limits
b) those elected need to have limits.
c) those operating the government need to have limits.
I do beleive that our elected officials have the right to be annoying and occasionally do things to piss off some people. If society is too move forward, pissing off people needs to occur on a bigger scale. But the key thing, is that everyone needs to share in being pissed off. If only a few people never get pissed off, then something is wrong with that politician or group of them.
Happy Canada Day for those reading this who are Canadian!
Roo.
P.S. -- my first name is of no importance but should not be hard to figure out.
