My username currently is an_unashamed_liberal, i meant this as a way to say that I am proud to be a leftist, since liberal, has at times been used synonymously with leftist, but I now see that it could mean that i am a supporter of the Liberal party, who despite me voting for in this recent election, are not my chosen party, so is there anyway to change my username?

Hi. I would consider just reapplying. If you give me a shorter username I might be able to change it, but I'm not sure.

This reminds me of an argument I had here at babble. No,calling yourself liberal DOES NOT mean you are a supporter of the LPC. I know what you are saying with your handle. There's no need to change it.

The problem is that "liberal" in that sense is USian. Unashamed should be able to change his or her handle, perhaps simply to "unashamed"? We need some way to be able to do that.

thank you for the replies its unfortunate that i cannot change the name but it is more a nuisance than anything else, although i will say it is ironic that the term liberal acts as a representative for one with leftist beliefs, considering the idea of a liberal is one who fights for rights, and can be found more within the right wing libertarian movement

One of our lovely moderators changed her name (to her real first name). I think babblers should have the same courtesy, if it is not an attempt at sock-puppetry or done multiple times. Perhaps let the babbler change his or her handle, while saying he or she was formerly x?
