When I was a teenager I was at a party at this guys house and a couple of the members of Buffalo Springfield were there. They had performed on a program on Global TV and we were watching it. I was not familiar with Buffalo Springfield at the time, so I wasn't all that interested. But then they started talking about their time with Neil Young, at which point I became very excited saying, "Oh my god, you guys played with Neil Young?!" It didn't occur to me until much later what a faux-pas this was. And a lost opportunity too. I regret not getting their autograph at the time.

The student movement is inspiring but the politics of the 80's has left a neverending malaise. Explain all the hippies that voted for Raygun back in 1980 and with that came the beginning of the end.

Self interest is neither left nor right. And I can tell you that besides the nuts on the right,I have a critically thinking able mind. If Bernie Sanders stood up and campaigned an idea or policy I vehemently oppose,I would not vote for him. You're never going to agree on all these issues with anyone. But personally or morally offensive policies are a deal breaker,I don't care what colour or creed one pertains to. It's the issues and policies that benefits interests.Laws matter.Ideas matter. Action matters.

If you're wealthy,your ass is covered,if you are not,TS.

When economic issues become more prominent, people tend to put whatever disagreements they have on social issues aside. Some time ago, Sanders went to speak to an assembly at Liberty University, in the heart of the Bible belt. He said flat out that he disagreed with those assembled on gay marriage or abortion, but went on to speak about other things. Not only did he receive applause at times, but even the moderator could sense a sincerity and conviction in Sanders that was genuine.

Yes. We fell for Conservative retoric as much as anyone else because we have written off people who we consider to be on the right. Sanders is winning for the same reason as Trump and Ford have. Authenticity and honesty sell as does a focus on class. It's crazy that the left isn't taking advantage of this golden opportunity to perhaps not take the Leap but at least turn in that direction.

+1. Even if he loses he will have had a huge impact but if Clinton wins I will be saddened by this lost opportunity to fight the corporations.
