Winnipeg Police Name New Chief

This is good news for Winnipeg and the WPS. Smyth has a long track record of honesty and integrity. He was [url=http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/a-long-record-of-doing-the-right-... of the officers involved in the J J Harper shooting in 1988[/url] and his conduct throughout that ordeal was above reproach. There was some concern with the Pallister government removing some civilian reps from the Winnipeg Police Board, so this development is welcome news.
