Of course there is this Tyre article which points out the uncomfortable truth that Palin is more qualified for the presidency than the fellow who got the job.

The White House has assured Canada that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will not be appointed as U.S. ambassador to Canada.A Trudeau government official says that assurance was provided to Canadian officials during Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit to the White House on Monday.
"It isn't Sarah Palin," the official said.
Thanks for the update Left Turn... on the one hand I feel a bit relieved, on the other I lament all the potential for gallows humour that has been lost.
If she'd been appointed, she'd probably have lost the job by trying to take all her guns through customs. I say that as a recovering Alaskan.
Well, she'd have got one of those nifty diplomatic pouches, though. Gotta be big enough for a Desert Eagle, at least.
