Our captive politicians: "Oil's Deep State" prevails
voice of the damned

When you hold a principled position on oil royalties in the Alberta Legislature this is sort of threat you can expect from an oil man.  The year was 2007 and KevinTaft was a Liberal MLA.  The speaker was good to his word as we learn from the rest of the book.  Oil men have no respect for the Marquis of Queensbury rules, or any others, especially those pertaining to the environment. There is oil in the ground and these hard-ass ethically challenged vultures are going to get it.

So, we're once again complaining that the oil industry is an irredeemable atroctiy, AND that the government needs to be collecting more revenue from it?

VOTD and everyone, please do not reward this shameless clickbait spammer with a comment. I've asked MegB to ban indigo 007 (viz. Billyard) for his years of spamming. It would help if others made a similar request.

I have been as angry as others about this. However, if this poster engages in conversation, I do not think this is a serious issue. I refrain from comment on Indigo's posts for the most part becuase he does not come back and engage in conversation. If he were to do that then I have no reasonable objection.

In the past he has only responded to people complaining about his posting as spam. However, I have seen in the last week at least one post where he engaged the community. I would prefer to encourage this than pressure a ban.

I do not have a problem with someone posting articles they prepare and use elsewhere provided they:

1) acknowledge when they do this that the article they are posting is not a third party but themselves.

2) engage in the conversation here both in terms of repolies to what they write on substance and in terms of replying to what other people write. By this I mean make clear that this whole engagement has a focus at elast as great as the article-posting.

Any sign from Indigo that he is willing to do this would lead me to welcome his participation here. He is not at balance yet, but he is beginning to expand from the just posting and walking away. I would encourage him to make that balance complete.
