Float planes collide carrying passengers on excursions from Royal Princess cruise ship in Alaska

Flying small charter air craft including float planes shouldn't be considered a dangerous occupation. Travelling with bush pilots on charters north made me get over my fear of flying.

Unless, of course, it really IS particularly dangerous.  My own guess would be that flying a low-altitude plane that can land on water would be statistically less dangerous than flying other small planes, but at any rate, before calling it "dangerous" I'd like to see more actual evidence than one freak collision.
