Welcome To the G-20 From Hell   -   by Pepe Escobar

http://www.atimes.com/article/welcome-to-the-g-20-from-hell/

"The G-20 in Buenos Aires on November 30 could set the world on fire - perhaps literally. Let's start with the US-China trade war. The US has started the 'trade friction' essentially 'to hinder  China's industrial upgrading.' That's the consensus at the top. And the clash is bound to get worse. Vice President Mike Pence, accused China of 'meddling in American democracy', 'debt diplomacy', 'currency manipulation' and 'IP theft'. China has been framed as a fierce competitor and even a threat.[Unlike Canada], President Xi Jinping will not cave in to Washington's trade demands.

Things look even harrier on the Russian front. For all of Sergey Lavrov's Taoist patience, Moscow's diplomatic circles are exasperated by serious American threats - as in the US Navy possibly enforcing a blockade to restrict Russia's energy trade. Or worse. In parallel, BP CEO Bob Dudley told the Oil & Money conference in London that any additional US sanctions against top Russian energy companies would be disastrous. 'If sanctions were put on Rosneft or Gazprom or Luk oil like what happened with Rusal, you would virtually shut down the energy system of Europe. It is a bit of an extreme thing to happen,' he said..."

Apparently "Canada" can't sleep at night until these two Canadians are released from a "human rights violation" prison cell from the brutal cruel harsh Communist regime China. Justin has made it his crusade to harp about how much he is trying to help these two poor Canadians.

Pondering

China is the greatest threat to the US in the world. The US considers both economic and military dominance (and tech) essential to security. China has been building all three. Whether it is open warfare like now or less obvious the war is on and I expect it will last a very long time. The US will not be able to stop China's economic rise. They can hold it back but not stop it.

China is making a mistake playing hardball with Canada not that Canada can do anything about it. It is still showing other countries that China will use trade to pressure them. A major point of trade deals and the WTO is to prevent that from happening. It is to assure business that supply and sales line are dependable and not subject to the whims of politicians. The whole point is to avoid problems like the cancellation of massive soybean contracts.

China is at G20 to promote trade. China screwing over Canada won't help them make deals. It will cast deals with China in doubt.
