Niibin Makwa (Summer Bear) spent his early childhood in Pine Creek First nation, observing his great grandparents living the ways of his people. As grand Chief, he has boycotted meetings with federal officials, demanded the recognition of inherent Indigenous rights, and gone on motorcycle tours across the prairies to raise awareness of treaty rights and responsibilities
