This month in three incidents resulting in bicyclist fatalities were in the news, one in Whistler, two in BC. Every month, bicyclists are injured and killed across this country.  We need safer streets for biking.

In British Columbia and in Toronto, cyclists are calling for safer streetsand bigger budgets for building infrastructure for cyclists.  Click here to read more about  British Columbia Cycling Coalition’s advocacy campaign.

In Toronto, Cycle Toronto has ward by ward assesments of what cyclists need as infrastructure.

On Friday June 19th at  Nathan Phillips Sq., East side, at 8:30am there is a die-in to demand an end to road fatalities of vulnerable road users in Toronto. City Council must 1) adopt a strong Vision Zero policy of zero road fatalities 2) boost cycling’s budget to $20 million and 3) build the Minimum Grid.
