Appears he was forced out by the military.

Clearly, either the thread title needs to be change or a "Military Coup in Bolivia" thread needs to be started.  Gods and reason help the people of that country-especially the Indigenous majority who may be about to be stripped of everything they've gained with Evo in power.  Please let this not be a repeat of the misery inflicted on Haiti, on Nicaragua in 1990, on Chile in 1973, on Brazil in 2018 and before the in 1964 on the Dominican Republic in 1964, on Guatemala in 1954, on all the other Latin American nations prior to that.

Evo Morales didn’t resign; he was overthrown by a coup d’état.

At the time of this writing, right wing forces are ransacking and burning President Morales’ home and are trying to arrest him.

This is not a resignation. No one resigns with a gun to their head.

Bolivia’s political and economic elite support this violence, as part of a resurgence of the far right in Latin America. Activists on the ground are currently getting smashed by these forces. We, the undersigned, denounce this violence, and preemptively denounce the violence that will inevitably escalate in the street. We call on the United Nations to make a statement denouncing the undemocratic nature of the coup and the strong-arm tactics of its backers.

Just look at him taking on that deep state.  In Bolivia.

Remember that Morales as far as I am aware is the only or was the only indigenous leader on the planet, loved by indigenous populations throughout the Latin Americas.....my friends amongst the Maya see this coup as a catalyst to begin building international indigenous solidarity....

The role of the OAS is instructive in this tragic affair...more detail would be useful!

Singh has got to let NDP MPs denounce the coup in the house and should damn well denounce it himself.  Nobody who supports the overthrow of a democratic government would ever even consider voting NDP, so there's no case for silence on this at all.
