Trudeau also "explained there would be a shift in tone but Canada would continue to be a friend of Israel's," she added.

What else is he supposed to say? That's it, we won't be a friend to Israel anymore?

I found a really cool website.

I like the concept but they should have made it interactive so that people could add to it:

"I want to reiterate, the Liberal Party of Canada will have Israel's back."

"Canada needs to continue to stand strongly with the international community pushing back against the bully that is Vladimir Putin."

"The TPP stands to remove trade barriers, widely expand free trade for Canada and increase opportunities for our middle class and those working hard to join it."

So thanks for starting us off;

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD MORE SHIT TRUDEAU SAYS.  (I'm guessing he's going to produce quite a bit!)

Some Iraqis are concerned that the Kurds, who ultimately want independence for their territory, will use the support and weapons they receive from the US-led coalition to eventually break away.

Vance said he has discussed troop withdrawal with the new Liberal government. He said he has provided 'confidential' advice to the cabinet and is 'not in a position to share' details of those discussions.

Ending Canada's participation in the campaign against ISIS was one of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's election campaign promises.

Canada Under Trudeau: Liberal Revival or Obamanation?

"...Eventually the fog of celebrity will dissipate and Canadians will wake up to a pounding hangover: Canada's new prime ministe is a callow dilettante who lacks political, economic or military expertise to think for himself, stand up to intense lobbying or lead the country with any degree of confidence. Such lack of qualification was in plain view throughout the campaign, but his fawning fans could not or would not see it.

Had the NDP run a more assertive, passionate campaign and gone after Trudeau for being a junior, milder version of Harper, Thomas Mulcair might now be at the head of a government. Instead the country is saddled with a government that, like Obama's, is turning out to be little better than the one it replaced.

Even before the government was sworn, Trudeau confirmed the pessimists' worst fears when he announced that, after speaking with Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, he would support the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Orwellian betrayal of sovereignty and civil rights to multinational corporations, which Canadians overwhelmingly oppose..."

Trudeau Commits To Major Role in Mideast War

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/11/17/cana-n17.html

"While Trudeau is currently spurning the demand that he shelve his CF-18 pledge, he went out of his way Monday to emphasize his government's support for the US-NATO offensive against Russia. Speaking to reporters about his brief meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 meeting, Trudeau boasted that he had told Putin that Russia should 'get out' of Ukraine.

Trudeau's pledge to end Canada's role in the bombing of Iraq and Syria was a cynical ploy aimed at appealing to popular opposition to the Harper government's bellicose foreign policy. In his first days in office, Trudeau has reaffirmed his pledge to strengthen Canada's military capabilities as part of a concerted drive to deepen the country's strategic partnership with US imperialism..."

Trudeau Promises Obama An Enhanced Canada-US Partnership

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/11/20/cana-n20.html

"Obama left no doubt that he expects Canada to rapidly ratify the TPP trade and investment deal. 'We are both soon to be signatories to the TPP agreement,' Obama told the leaders' joint press conference.

'I know Justin has to agree with what's happening, but we think that after that process has taken place, Canada, the US and other countries that are here can establish the high standards agreement that protects labour, protects the environment, protects the kind of high-value added goods and services that we both excel in. [that and bare-faced lying]

Obama's rhetoric is a sham. The 12-country pact is the economic arm of Washington's 'Pivot to Asia', a comprehensive, military-strategic, diplomatic and economic drive to encircle, isolate and prepare for war against China.

Canada is deeply implicated in the 'Pivot.' In late 2013, the Harper government struck a secret agreement with Washington for enhanced Canada-US military cooperation in the Asian Pacific. Canada has also been strengthening its military-security cooperation with US allies in the region, including by seeking to establish new forward military bases in Singapore and Korea..."

You do understand that this is meaningless propaganda don't you? Good or bad relationship, they will play it up so that they can overplay the letdown they feign when Trudeau takes the six bombers out.

And then of course the negative propaganda aspect of it in order to cause Trudeau supporters who are mainly antiwar to get pissed off because he's even talking to the leader of the apartheid state.

I'm sure 'you' understand.

Yes. And I also expect that his eventual withdrawal of Canadian jets will be leveraged to mask an even more substantial commitment to this new iteration of the GWOT. And many Canadians  will settle for this nice lie of 'non-involvement' just like they did last time...

No Canadian involvement is o.k. with me but this from your link is far preferable to killing people with the 6 bombers.

Quote:
They denounced the government for allowing Canada’s multibillion dollar warships to protect US aircraft carriers in the Gulf.

It's easy for the NDP to take the high road when not elected and responsible. Especially when we know that the Canadian people were firmly in favour of the Conservatives' taking Canada into another US led war. And the majority probably still are. Foreign policy wasn't a big election issue for either the NDP or the Liberals because it wasn't a winning strategy. I remember feeling the frustration even though I understood why and that first defeating the Conservatives was the only important issue.

If the 6 bombers are pulled out and they are replaced with something that is genuinely more egregious then it won't escape my personal notice. We'll see, but it's a pretty sure thing the NDP will find it more egredious no matter what Canada contributes. What other position do they have to call their own? We'll see. And it won't go unnoticed no matter what happens.

Again I make the claim that Trudeau's head is in the right space, as was Chretien's head. That didn't stop the Conservatives and their supporters from making claims that Canada played an active part in the 2003 Iraq war. Wishful thinking on that one I guess?

I'm not about to take globalresearch as a credible source after just reading it as another propaganda attempt for the purpose I named. No doubt at all that Conservatives screamed bloody murder at the time though. I personally remember phoning into a radio show where they had Mike Duffy spewing his prowar hate. The question asked was, who was/is Canada's greatest person. I said it was "Chrretien" for keeping our country out of the US led war in Iraq and I immediately got cut off.

And aren't the Conservatives still after all these years, trying to spin it their way!

Question for you quizzical: Would your be angry if Trudeau reduces our commitemtne to the US led wars?

Trudeau Says Canada Will Seek Seat on UN Security Council

"Canada is looking to win a seat on the UN Security Council as part of a move to renew its relationship with the world body, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today. Trudeau shared a podium with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as he spoke of his plans to rebuild Canada's ties to the organization.

'On the issue of the UN Security Council, I highlighted to the secretary general that part of Canada wishing to re-engage robustly with the UN and in multilateral engagement around the world includes looking towards a bid for the UN Security Council, Trudeau said.

The two men's talks covered issues ranging from climate change to the resettlement of Syrian refugees and Canada's return to major peacekeeping operations. Trudeau said he told Ban that Canada wants to be involved as a peacemaker."

I'm sure given Canada's demonstrated record of service to power, we stand a pretty good chance of such a position. A good lackey can always find ways to make themself of use in such cases..

Trudeau Pledges Strengthened Canada-US Partnership in White House Visit

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2016/03/12/cana-m12.html

"Behind the celebrity-style glitz and fawning media coverage, Trudeau and Obama focused on deepening their countries' long-standing strategic collaboration. Although the main areas of discussion publicly reported concerned trade, other economic issues and climate change, Ottawa and Washington's military-security cooperation was central to the Canada-US summit.

Trudeau won the support of significant sections of Canada's ruling elite during last year's election campaign, due in no small part to the Liberals' commitment to strengthen Canada's strategic partnership with Washington.

This takes place under conditions where US imperialism is the most destabilizing force in world politics, having been waging virtually uninterrupted war for the past quarter-century as it seeks to use its overwhelming superiority to offset its economic decline.

Canada is a major partner in all three of the US's principal military-strategic offensives: it's aggressive moves against Russia in Eastern Europe and the Baltic, the war in the Middle East to secure hegemony over the world's most important oil producing region and the Obama administration's 'pivot' or rebalance to Asia, which aims to economically and militarily isolate China in preparation for war.

On Thursday, the two leaders pledged to work towards implementing the Trans Pacific Partnership (TTP) trade deal, the economic arm of Washington's geostrategic offensive against Beijing..."

i remember back to the election when Liberal supporters were carrying on about why was Mulcair's wife using Mulcair's name. and now this lollolol...

Quote:
That raised a few eyebrows in the newsroom. For, at the end of the federal election campaign last October, the style arbiters at Maclean’s (including me) noticed that the Liberal party and news organizations were inconsistent in regards to her last name. Some used Trudeau, others Grégoire, while others had variations using both names. Our preference is to use the name preferred by the person. So I asked the magazine’s Ottawa bureau to check with the Liberal party as to which style was preferred by the prime minister-designate’s wife.

The answer was Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau.

That she’s adopted a hyphenated name generated headlines, including this Maclean’s piece by Anne Kingston on the latest example of surname morph in Canadian politics. Since the election we have used that authorized version, as do the main newspapers in Canada: the Toronto Star, Globe and Mailand National Post. And it was used on the Liberal website as late as the end of October.

Now it’s gone. From the Liberal website. And recent press releases.

What’s left unanswered is why? Was the original hyphen an error? Did she try it out for a while and not like it? Why was it un-hyphenated so quietly?

Yeah. Trudeau comes across as a stereotypical politician.Perhaps because he is.

But the LPC won a majority, not only because of the anti-Harper sentiment, but because they laid out an agenda that was apparently quite popular.

Up to this point, besides taking in Syrian refugees, promises, promises highlighted in the Throne Speech, are no where to be found.

Personally,I'd be ecstatic if the Liberals kept their promise about cannabis. I think if they were serious, they would have immediately decriminalized it until they came up with a policy of legalization. But no.

I didn't vote for them but I was willing to give them time to keep their promises. That time has come and gone.

However,I'd compare Trudeau to Obama rather than Harper. And I'm still celebrating his demise. I'm glad he's gone.Good riddance.Even if I haven't yet seen any evidence of a difference so far.
