Worse than Watergate is what people were shouting after Michael Cohen left the courthouse today after pleading guilty, and implicating the sitting president in a crime (they were of course mimicking the Trump supporters yelling 'Lock Her Up' concerning Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election campaign.

Let's face it, this has to be the worst possible, no good, very bad day for Donald Trump, and the people on the street were yelling for Donald Trump to be locked up.

If Cohen's behaviour is criminal, why isn't the president's behaviour criminal as well, seeing as it was the president who directed and benefitted from Cohen's criminal behaviour? This shows what a farce the US Constitution and their Laws actually are, which basically serve to protect the rich and powerful people such as the president.

Now the GOP are probably going to pay a huge price politically if they don't cut Trump loose!

The former MI6 officer Christopher Steele has won a legal battle in the United States against three Russian oligarchs who sued him over allegations made in his dossier about the Trump campaign and its links with Moscow.

The oligarchs – Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven and German Khan – claimed that Steele and his intelligence firm, Orbis, defamed them in the dossier, which was leaked and published in early 2017. The Russians own stakes in Moscow-based Alfa Bank. All are billionaires.

On Monday, a judge in the District of Columbia, Anthony C Epstein, upheld a motion by Steele to have the oligarchs’ case thrown out. Epstein did not determine whether the dossier – which Donald Trump has repeatedly dismissed as “fake” – was “accurate or not accurate”.

But the judge concluded that it was covered by the US first amendment, which protects free speech. He ruled that the oligarchs had failed to prove a key part of their case: that Steele knew that some information in the dossier was inaccurate, and had acted “with reckless disregard as to its falsity”.

The ruling is a piece of good news for Steele, who has maintained silence in the face of a mountain of abuse from Trump and his enraged supporters. This month, the president called Steele a “lowlife” on Twitter and described the dossier as “phony”, “discredited” and paid for by “Crooked Hillary”.

Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance law on Tuesday and said he did so “at the direction” of President Donald Trump.

Trump’s former attorney and fixer pleaded guilty to eight federal counts — five counts of tax evasion, one count of making a false statement to a financial institution, one count of causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution — in a deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan.

The plea agreement calls for a sentencing range of 43 to 63 months, far less than the 65 years Cohen could have faced if he were convicted at trial. But the judge is not bound by the agreement and can give Cohen more time when he is sentenced on Dec. 12. Cohen was freed pending the posting of a $500,000 bond.

In a tweet several hours later, one of his attorneys, Lanny Davis, suggested that prosecutors should charge Trump based on Cohen's admissions.
