Biden will be entering the race basically tied as the frontrunner next week, so we will see how he does against Sanders the other frontrunner at this point.
UBI is Mr. Yang's main message. The idea is beginning to settle into the US electorate.

I do not buy the significance of a frontrunner in a race with so many candidates. There probably is a solid majority who would never support him. Even assuming that he has a lead in name regonition, if the race were consolidated in preferential voting right now I think he would not have a chance. as candidates drop off he will fade quickly as others gain their support. He is so well known that he has limited growth -- people already know their thoughts on him.
That's the kiss of death I suppose in the USA

I think the Democrats are seeing impeachment as a poor strategy at this point. It is more divisive than defeating Trump at the polls next year, it is less likely to succeed. Defeating Trump at the polls might not happen if there is a failed impeachment process. An impeachment could still come after the eleciton. Now they will focus on the election.
You can be sure that impeachable offences will be investigated without impeachment since if there is a win for trump in the eleciton but a loss in the Senate, impeachment would become possible. More evidence will feed the election rhetoric without impeachment proceedings and may feed impeachment proceedings after depending on the election result, the results of the investigations and how close the election turns out (if there is cheating, if Trump loses popular vote etc.).
I hope not.

Former Vice President Biden Officially Enters Democratic Party

"Even before he officially announced, the media had dubbed Biden the frontrunner in the crowded Democratic primaries, since he was leading in most polls where he was included as a candidate, with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders trailing by a few percentage points. Biden will likely be the favored candidate among major Democratic donors and the party apparatus including Barack Obama.

Biden way our in front. Sanders and O’Rourke falling, Warren rising
I have been a Sanders fan since he was mayor of Burlington.
But after 2 years of the Orange Sphincter, I don't care who gets the nomination. AS LONG as it's someone who can beat him. Certainly not many in the Democrat race who is worse than Clinton---if possible.
I predict Biden will win the nomination for the greatest coin toss event in the world, the US presidential elections.
As far as Biden’s odds at winning the coin toss? 50/50
The oddest thing for me to understand is how people can get so passionate, polarized and worked up. Discussing endlessly and analyzing a coin toss????
Like as if some how the future of the world can be directed or hang in the balance.
Biden loses in a Biden/Trump contest. There are photos of Biden inappropriately touching women all over the Internet, plus he joked about asking Heidi Heitkamp to spread her legs. The Democrats, unlike the Republicans, pretend to care about protecting the rights of women, so that won't go over well with their base.

He's already weathered that stuff. The spread your legs reference is totally out of context. He was referring to an arrest when a former state prosecutor was being sworn in.
It looks like Biden has an almost insurmountable lead but we will see.
It looks like Biden has an almost insurmountable lead but we will see.
Really? My interpretation is that he is dead in the water. He cannot even make 1/3 when he was previously VP and many of the other candidates aren't even known yet and the race among them is divided. At the start of the race he should be doing better. Frankly Sanders is also too low. Neither have a chance. If they cannot score higher before the others get a chance to campaign then they have no chance. Between the two I give Biden not even one snowball in hell, Sanders I might give two since he could grow as some drop off but Biden's support is where it is likely to stay.
This is good news since Biden is the worst the Democrats could put up. He will either lose to Trump (or another Republican if Trump is not on the ballot) or himself be the closest the Democrats could produce to a Republican President.
If Biden wins then the Democrats are going with someone as bad as H. Clinton.

I agree about Biden. He is popular because of having been VP to Obama, however his record shows him to be jsut another politician. Once he becomes more known, his popularity will drop.
I disagree about Sanders. He is by far the most popular politician in the United States. He sounds like a normal person when he talks, and is very good at answering stupid questions thrown at him. He has also been in politics for 40 years, and clips of him talking still keep coming up of him essentially saying the same thing then as he does now. He has proven himself to be trustworty. Sure some of the candidates are proposing things that may be popular now. Sanders has been proposing those things since before they were popular. Because of this, he has a base of supporters who are very enthusiastic about him, with a level of enthusiasm unmatched by any other candidate. Sanders is also a phenomenal campaigner. When the campaign is underway, that will see that he alone of the candidates has any integrity (with the possible exception of Tulsi Gabbard.) That said, I think the Democratic Party is still stupid enough to rig the process for Biden. Remember that the big money financiers of the Democratic Party do better under a Republican Presidential administration than one led by the Sanders wing of the Democratic Party.
